I have to lead by saying that Ode to Grapefruit is illustrated by my favorite children’s book illustrator, Bryan Collier. I love how he combines watercolor and collage to compliment each of his stories. This particular story describes James Earl Jones’ difficult struggle with stuttering when he was young and how he eventually found his voice through poetry. And what a voice! This book would be a beautiful addition to any home library.
